Let me get right to the point. I'm trying to move out of Cordova, TN. In the 19 years I have lived here, I've watched the quality of life go into the crapper, not to mention the property values. Reckless development and all the bad things that come with it, have pushed me to the point that I have to get out! Unfortunately, like a lot of owners of existing homes in this area, this isn't a simple task. It is easy to feel like you are "trapped" as you try to come up with the required time and money to complete all the needed repairs and upgrades in order to have a chance of selling your home and breaking even.
Thinking about this, I decided I would put up this site to document my own progress and frustrations while providing a place for others. A place to talk about their own experiences and exchange suggestions and ideas that might help others wanting to move from (or to) this area.
If you want to know more background on why exactly this site came about, please see the About and History sections. If you want to contribute to this site or to help accelerate my move it is greatly appreciated and won't be forgotten.
Yes Virginia, I am still among the Living!
Yeah... Been too busy with *Life* to keep this up with no help. Had to disable discussions because was getting spammed so much and so many mean us vs. them posts. Geesh... 2013
Contrary to appearances, I am still kicking. I have had a very difficult year health-wise but am finally back up 2 speed!
Memphis Tigers Lose in NCAA Finals to Kansas
Unfortunately, the Memphis Tigers choke in the last few minutes of regulation and lose to Kansas in the NCAA finals game. Coach Calapari hoped a win might help unite the city. I don't know about that. But a loss certainly means we will hear a lot of,'what do expect from Memphis?' comments today. :-( ! 04/08/2008
Mayor Herenton Resigns! (NOT)
Long time mayor Dr. Willie Herenton shocks many by deciding to resign effective 7/31/2008! You can read whatever you want into this, but is too late for a Memphis turnaround? 03/20/2008
The weather turned really bad for residents in Cordova and other parts of Tennessee on 02/05/2008. Our thoughts go out to all those affected. One Tornado formed over near Wolfchase mall which was too close to home for most of us. Dennis K Russell took this picture looking West. 02/07/2008
What Are Homes in Your Neighborhood Going For?
I friend of mine at work referred me to a great little site called Zillow to track who in your neighborhood is selling their homes and what they are getting for them. You might be shocked at the level of detail on your own home. Hopefully you weren't participating in any illegal behavior in your back yard when they imaged your neighborhood! :-) 01/30/2008
Happy New Year
Happy New Year to everyone! Hopefully 2008 will be a good year for property values for a change! Expect to see many more homes go (back) on the market in the Spring. How successful sellers all should give us a good indication of what this year will bring. 01/01/2008
Payday Loans in Cordova
The CA recently ran a story on concerns over a Payday Loan business wanting to open up on Germantown Parkway. This is really nothing new. We already have 2 that at more or less in Cordova less than a mile apart off Hwy 64 near the Wolfchase Mall. These businesses are indeed a bad sign. They shouldn't go for the type of customers they may attract but because of how they will most certainly take advantage of people in the area, possibly aggravating what may already be a dire financial situation resulting in even more foreclosures. Post your what you think here.11/10/2007

Same Old Same Old...
Apparently still excited about being named the number one most violent city in America, Memphis voters re-elect long time mayor Willie Herenton to yet another 4 year term! 10/05/2007
